Meet the Junior Board
Taryn Siglain is Executive Director of Client Financing and Firm Funding Strategy at Morgan Stanley. Taryn holds a BS in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Bentley University. She first became involved with NAC through probono consulting work with the agency in 2014. Taryn joined the NAC Young Professionals in February 2015, becoming the Fundraising Co-Chair in September 2015, and is a founding member of the NAC Junior Board.
FUN FACT: Taryn lived in Budapest, Hungary for 6 months on a work assignment. During her time in Europe she was able to travel to more than 20 countries. Taryn continues to spend any time off from work exploring the world!
Robert Kaplan is Vice President at Wells Fargo Securities. Robert is a member of the Business Management team, which focuses on Cash Equities and Equity Derivatives Sales and Trading business. As a new member of the NAC Junior Board, Robert is looking forward to working with children in need.
FUN FACT: Robert, along with his wife, have started a tradition of making their own wine annually. They try something new every year, and this year they made a fantastic Cabernet-Merlot blend!
Nick Deering is an Analyst on the Prime Brokerage Sales team at Wells Fargo Securities where he focuses on the greater Northeastern region. Nick holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He became involved with NAC in 2017 when he had the opportunity to dress as Santa Clause and give out presents to NAC children.
FUN FACT: In 2017, Nick traveled to Pamplona, Spain where he participated in the Running of the Bulls tradition during the Festival of San Fermin.
Allison is an Associate at JLL where she serves as a commercial real estate advisor to all types of companies, ranging from nonprofits to financial services, in their search for office space in New York City. Allison holds a BBA in Finance and International Business from the George Washington University. Allison first became involved with NAC when she heard about the organization through her team at JLL, who worked with NAC to find and secure their office space in New York. After attending the annual gala, she was inspired to get involved. In 2019, Allison has been involved with NAC since 2019 as a member of the Junior Board.
FUN FACT: Allison studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 6 months in college. She has a passion for travel and exploring new cultures and has had the opportunity to travel to more than 30 countries.
Lana Belaya is an Associate in the Alternative Investments Product Development Group at Morgan Stanley. During her 5+ years at Morgan Stanley, Lana has worked on various strategic, organizational, operational, regulatory, and risk management initiatives within the Global Business Operations group mandate. She holds a BBA in Finance, Investments, and Economics from Zicklin School of Business at Bernard M. Baruch College, and is currently pursuing an MBA at Columbia Business School.
FUN FACT: Lana speaks Russian and is a fitness enthusiast.
Thomas Birmingham is a Vice President in Citi's Not-for-Profit Health Care Investment Banking Group, where he supports capital markets transactions and M&A advisory mandates for a range of health care providers, including multi-state health systems, regional health systems, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. Thomas holds a BS in Business Management and a BA in Economics from Stony Brook University. He joined the NAC Junior Board in 2019, and also serves on the Junior Board of Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center and volunteers with MedShare, an international humanitarian aid organization.
FUN FACT: Thomas started playing the drums in 2nd grade and hasn't missed an opportunity since to keep his family, friends, and neighbors entertained...and awake at all hours of the night!
Kyle Cohen is an Associate at Prime Finance where he is responsible for commercial real estate loan origination. Kyle holds a BA in Economics and a BS in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. Kyle has been involved with NAC since September 2017 as a member of the Junior Board.
FUN FACT: Kyle is an avid record collector with more than 300 (and counting) records.
Ashley Davis is the Educational Director of the Park Slope Schoolhouse, a non-profit early childhood program, and she is an Adjunct Professor at Queens College Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Ashley holds a BS in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University, a Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Special Education from New York University, and a Masters in Administration/Supervision from Hunter College. Her passion for working with children and families began as a young adult when she coached the Special Olympics Swim Team and took them to the World Games.
FUN FACT: Ashley has an adorable Cavapoo puppy who was featured in a recent Vogue Magazine issue that was dedicated to animals.
Alex is a Senior in the audit & assurance practice at Mazars, engaged primarily with real estate entities and non-profit organizations. Alex holds a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University. He is also a registered CPA in New York. Alex has been involved with NAC since the fall of 2018, when NAC was a client of Mazars'. Alex has long been passionate about helping children, a value instilled by his mother, who is an SEIT, and his brother, a vice-principal who has worked for the NYC DoE for nearly 20 years.
FUN FACT: Alex is a native New Yorker, born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. His desire to give back to the broader New York City community is one of the things which most attracted him to NAC.
Tim Freydberg is a Vice President in CBRE's midtown office, where he focuses on tenant and landlord representation in Manhattan. Prior to joining CBRE, Tim was a Director at the Vortex Group and a Vice President at NSNYRE. Tim, his wife Jaclyn, and their 7 lb Pomeranian live in New York City and enjoy going to the beach, traveling, and helping NAC kids as much as they can.
FUN FACT: Tim enjoys exploring the diverse culinary landscape of New York City, and will try anything...except salmon!
Christina Ganon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Mount Sinai Hospital. Christina received her MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2010 and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2007 with a BS in Child Development. She has recently opened a private practice working with individuals, couples, and families. Christina first became involved with NAC in 2009 when she worked as a social work intern in the Prevention Department, and worked for NAC from 2010-2014.
FUN FACT: Christina is a certified PADI Scuba Instructor. Scuba diving has taken her all over the world, including Australia, Fiji, and the Galapagos Islands.
Allie Genghini is a Senior Fund Accountant at Terra Capital Partners. Allie holds a BS in Accounting from SUNY Geneseo and an MS in Accounting from St. John's University. She is a New York State Certified Public Accountant. As a new member of the NAC Junior Board, Allie is excited to advocate and help children in need.
FUN FACT: Allie loves to travel and explore new places. She recently traveled to Japan for her honeymoon.
Rebecca Gevertz is a Fund Manager for the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Rebecca previously worked as a Senior Analyst, Supply Chain for the Greater New York Hospital Association. Rebecca holds a BA in Biology and Public Health from Brown University. She has been involved with NAC since 2000, joined the NAC Young Professionals in 2015, and now serves on the Junior Board.
FUN FACT: Rebecca is an avid Boston Red Sox fan, despite both growing up and continuing to live in New York.
Gabby Giovanniello is the Head of Planning at Birchbox where she leads the omni-channel inventory management strategy. Gabby holds a BA in English from Bucknell University, and has been involved with NAC since 2019 as a member of the Junior Board. Gabby first became involved with the organization as part of the Birchbox Volunteer and Service group, after participating in the NAC Book Fair and NAC Olympics. She also serves as a Sophomore Writing & Critical Thinking Instructor for the New York City chapter of Minds Matter.
FUN FACT: Gabby spent 4 months living with a Swiss family outside Geneva for study abroad while in her junior year of college, where she honed her French and developed a taste for Raclette!
Emily Gutman is part of the Risk Assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers with a focus in Entertainment, Media and Communications. Emily holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Vermont. As a part of her studies, she spent a semester abroad in London, England at City University's Cass Business School. Emily joined NAC in 2017 and is excited to continue her involvement.
FUN FACT: Emily has been skiing since she was three years old, and was a ski instructor at Sugarbush Resort inVermont. She hopes to save up enough vacation days in the next year to plan a ski trip to Europe.
Alexis Hart is Director of Digital Content at Borghese and founder of RandomActsofLipstick.com, where she curates content about beauty brands and influencers who give back. Alexis holds a BA in Sociology from Bucknell University. She has been involved with NAC since 2009, and is a founding member and former fundraising chair for the NAC Young Professionals. Alexis is also a volunteer at the Coalition for the Homeless and fosters pups through Social Tees Animal Rescue.
FUN FACT: Alexis rarely leaves her apartment without the perfect red lipstick and SPF 30+.
Ann Helgerson is a Senior Marketing Manger at McGraw-Hill Education. Ann holds a BA in English from James Madison University. She began her volunteer work with NAC over seven years ago as a founding member of the NAC Young Professionals, and became the Fundraising Co-Chair in September 2015. Ann is now a founding member of the NAC Junior Board and has also volunteered with the Coalition for the Homeless and New York Cares.
FUN FACT: Ann studied in Paris, France in college, which solidified a minor in French as well as obsessions with food, wine, and travel (though the obsessions have substantially outlasted her mastery of the French language).
Andrew Hosbein is an Associate at Avista Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm, where he focuses on evaluating investment opportunities across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, outsourced pharmaceutical services, distribution, and consumer-driven healthcare subsectors. Andrew holds a BBA in Finance, with a minor in Chinese language and culture, from the University of Notre Dame. He has been involved with NAC since April 2019 and is also a membership of the Special Olympics New York Leadership Council.
FUN FACT: Andrew speaks Mandarin and French, has played piano since 3rd grade, and is always trying to improve his golf game.
Timothy Kahrs is a Manager of Risk Advisory Services at Dixon Hughes Goodman and has more than 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. Timothy specializes in business development, front-to-back office transformation, technology optimization, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. He holds a BS in Financial Economics from Binghamton University, and has volunteered with New York Cares and the Movember Foundation.
FUN FACT: While in college, Tim was a member of the Harpur's Ferry Ambulance Corp., serving as an EMT-Basic for three years.
Amanda Manthey is an Account Associate at PIMCO, where she manages client relationships and focuses on helping financial advisors navigate the economy and investments. She is also an active member of the volunteer organization, PIMCO Foundation, and is on the planning committee for Global Volunteer Week and Take your Kids to Work day. Amanda holds a BS in Finance and Marketing from Lehigh University, and joined the NAC Junior Board in 2018.
FUN FACT: Amanda owns her own photography businesss, specializing in maternity, children, and posed newborn images.
Tania Matsuoka is an Associate in the Securities Litigation group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where her practice focuses on securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative suits, litigation arising from mergers and acquisitions, and internal investigations. Tania holds a JD from Georgetown, and a BA in Public Communications from American University. She joined NAC as a member of the Junior Board in August 2019.
FUN FACT: Tania was a competitive figure skater for over 10 years.
Calvin Mceathron is a Public Finance analyst at Citigroup, where he specializes in large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects. Prior to his time at Citigroup, Calvin majored in Economics and Political Science at Middlebury College, and also played on the baseball team. He became involved in NAC after learning about their mission and long-standing commitment to children. He also volunteers with the Municipal Forum of New York's Urban Leadership Fellows Program, and previously served on the board of the Addison County Court Diversion & Community Justice Projects and as a volunteer for the Middlebury 'Community Friends' program.
FUN FACT: Calvin grew up on a small farm with his three brothers and little sister, and helped raise cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens. He bets he can milk a cow faster than anyone at Citi!
Christopher McGrath is an Assistant Vice President at the Blackstone Group in their secondary private equity fund family, Strategic Partners. Christopher oversees the investor relations team with a focus on fund raises. Prior to Blackstone, he worked at Credit Suisse from 2008 until 2013 in the Asset Management group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Iona College. Christopher has been involved with NAC since February of 2019. He heard about NAC and the Junior Board through Robert Kaplan, who was a former colleague at Credit Suisse.
FUN FACT: Christopher is an avid fan of music going to about twenty shows each year and amassing a large and eclectic album collection that his saint of a wife tolerates. Additionally, he is a keen reader of history and literature in general, a trait attributed to his father's work in the publishing industry for over thirty years.
Bailey Pearce is a Process Engineer in the Luxury division of L'Oreal, managing capital projects for new product integrations. Bailey holds a BSE in Chemical Engineering with a minor in German from the University of Michigan, and recently acquired her Green Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma. Bailey has been involved with NAC since July 2019 as a Junior Board Member, and learned about NAC through the Night for NAC event.
FUN FACT: Bailey loves to sail, and can often be found on Sunday afternoons in the summer cruising New York Harbor with friends.
Jennifer Reid is a Director in the Consumer and Retail Investment Banking Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Jennifer has worked in the investment banking industry for 10 years and specializes in the restaurant, fitness and specialty retail sectors. She has an MBA, an MS and a BS in Finance from the University of Alabama. She is also involved with The University of Alabama business school and UbuntuEducation Fund.
FUN FACT: Jennifer has a black belt in Karate. It has been years since she practiced!
Brandon Scott Roye is an Account Strategist at Google, where he grows small businesses through artificial intelligence-driven advertising and marketing strategies. Brandon is also the Co-Founder and COO of Sadoughi Cosmetics, and he serves as the Creative Director and Editor In Chief for Good Millennial and The Influencer. He holds a BBA in Supply Chain and Management from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Brandon has been involved with NAC since October 2018, and was introduced to NAC through close friend, and fellow Junior Board member, Alexis Hart. His passion for philanthropy stems from collaborations with organizations including Notley Ventures, Human Rights Campaign, and United Nations.
FUN FACT: Brandon has lived in Hong Kong, Texas, and California. He has visited 10+ countries, has studied classical piano and trumpet since elementary school, and can ride a unicycle!
Arvind Singh is a Senior Consultant with Dixon, Hughes, & Goodman LLP in the area of Risk Advisory. He has held positions at HomeServe, AIG, and Alliance Bernstein. He holds an MBA in Finance and Management from Fordham, and an MS in Economic Development Via Sustainable Tourism from Boston University. He has been involved with NAC since 2009 as a volunteer, and was a member of the NAC Young Professionals.
FUN FACT: Arvind is a huge Yankees fan and has been lucky enough to attend several memorable playoff games since 1996.
Ariel Stern is an Associate at The Georgetown Company, a leading investor and developer of commercial, retail and mixed-use real estate nationwide. Ariel is responsible for underwriting new acquisition and development opportunities across a broad investment mandate. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Ariel was an Analyst at Evercore in their Technology Mergers and Acquisitions Group in Silicon Valley. He has been involved with NAC since October 2018, after learning about the organization through colleagues at Evercore. He was a volunteer for the AYSO VIP Buddy Program throughout middle school and high school.
FUN FACT: Ariel started playing the piano when he was two years old and enjoys performing in competitions and for friends and family.
David Tadros is a senior analyst in the Healthcare M&A group at Evercore. David was previously a Corporate Development Analyst at Humana. He holds a BA in Economics from Boston College. David joined the NAC Junior Board in 2018, and is looking forward to advocating for and partnering with NAC.
FUN FACT: David speaks Arabic and loves to do puzzles.
Emma Tuzinkiewicz is a Manager at KKR, where she supports the management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and opportunities across KKR's investment process and portfolio. A graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University, Emma earned a BA focusing her studies on Sustainable Development and Spanish. She also completed courses at Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru in Lima, Peru during this time. Emma is a founding member of the NAC Junior Board, served as its Secretary from 2016 to 2019, and currently serves as its Head of Membership and Recruitment Committee. She is also an active volunteer with Hudson River Park Friends, The Trust for Public Land, and Rikers Debate Project.
FUN FACT: Emma thrives on the buzz and bustle of New York City. She ran the NYC Marathon twice, and you can frequently find her Citibiking along the Hudson River Park.
Dennis VanBruinisse is COO and co-founder of Swellby,Inc., whose mission is to build a HIPAA-compliant platform that benefits kids in Early Intervention. Dennis is responsible for managing day-to-day operations but also wears many hats including pitching to investors, raising capital, etc. Dennis holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham University, Gabelli School of Business, and has volunteered with NAC since 2010.
FUN FACT: Dennis enjoys rock climbing and is learning to skateboard.
Christina Walsh is an Investment Professional at Aquiline. Christina was previously in the M&A Advisory Group at Evercore. She holds an MBA from Wharton and a BS in Business Management from Stony Brook University. As a new member of the NAC Junior Board, Christina is looking forward to advocating for and partnering with NAC in many ways to help children in need.
FUN FACT: Christina's favorite place in NYC is Central Park, where she can often be found running or riding her bike.
Shelagh Wong is currently Executive Director, Global Commercial Strategy at BECCA Cosmetics, an Estee Lauder Companies portfolio brand. Previously, Shelagh was part of the International team at the Estee Lauder Companies global headquarters, the Strategy and Operations group at Archstone Consulting (now the Hackett Group), the Operations Strategy Consulting team at Accenture, and the Hydration Business Unit at the Coca-Cola Companies. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University, a Masters in Marketing Management from FIT as part of a fellowship from the Estee Lauder Companies, and a Bachelor of Science from the Rutgers University honors program. Shelagh's first involvement with NAC began with volunteering at the NAC Olympics & Kids Carnival in June 2019. She has also volunteered with APEX for Youth, Publicolor, KEEN New York, Womankind, New York Cares, the Ronald McDonald House, and Project Sunshine.
FUN FACT: The first time Shelagh traveled to South Africa, she sustained an injury inflicted by the sharp tooth of a lion cub.
